NHL Goalie Masks
Although I don’t really enjoy playing goalie anymore, when I watch hockey I definitely envy the National Hockey League goalies for one reason and one reason only…the NHL goalie mask. I am so jealous of the goalies that are playing professional hockey because they all seem to have multiple goalie masks with insane paint jobs. Some of these goaltenders even sport different masks for home and away games, and goalies like Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens has even been known to have a special hockey goalie mask created for a one time special occasion or celebration and then after the game he auctions the goaltender mask off for charity.
Obviously money is not an issue for these goaltenders and professional teams. Also, the fact that hockey is a business that wants to appeal to the fans, the executives of each team probably want to make sure that their goaltenders masks look professional. Therefore, professional goalies of teams in almost any professional league have access to some of the most amazing air brush artists who specialize in painting NHL goalie masks.
For amateur hockey goalies, a paint job like the ones you see on your favorite National Hockey League goalies would cost thousands of dollars, so for most people this type of paint job is not an option. However, you can hire some less experienced air brush artists that have not had much experience with painting goalie masks and probably get a better deal. Also, you could hire somebody who works at an auto body shop to do a basic pin stripe design on your goalie mask at a very affordable price. So, while it might be difficult to afford getting a mask similar to the NHL goalie masks worn by today’s pros, you definitely do have options if you want a paint job on your hockey goalie mask. Do some research in your hometown or even online for amateur or inexperienced artists that might agree to painting your hockey goalie mask for an affordable price, and you might be surprised how many artists would jump at the opportunity to paint a goalie mask.
