Ice Hockey Gear
If you play hockey than you already know that choosing the right ice hockey gear can be quite difficult, especially if you are new to the sport. Hockey is such a great sport for many reasons, but one of the reasons why a lot of players get so addicted to this amazing sport is because of the equipment. Buying a new piece of equipment is something that I look forward to, and though some players do not share the same love for purchasing hockey equipment, most that I know do. The craftsmanship that goes into most of the equipment is really better than it has ever been before in order to protect you and to allow for your gear to last longer.
One reason why I think that ice hockey gear is so great is because most of it is so customizable. Most of the external pieces of equipment you wear, such as hockey gloves and pants can be completely customized. If you play organized hockey, you might not be able to customize your equipment, but if you play recreational or drop in hockey you are probably free to wear whatever you want, so go ahead and personalize your hockey uniform.
Ice hockey goalie gear is even more customizable than player gear. Playing goalie allows you to really express your personality through your goalie pads and goalie mask. Customizing goalie equipment can be expensive, especially if you decide to paint your goalie mask. Any professional paint job is going to cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars all the way up to a few thousand dollars. Goalie equipment is great to look at, especially if you can afford to customize your gear.
Hockey has so much tradition, and though the equipment has evolved so much over the last few decades, for the most part the equipment still looks very similar to how it did fifty years ago, but it has been enhanced to allow you to move more comfortably, protect you more and last longer.
If you are looking to purchase new equipment but cannot justify spending a lot of money on it, and you do not care about customizing your uniform, you might want to do some research online to see where you might be able to get discount ice hockey gear to save a few dollars.
