Many kids who play hockey or follow hockey like to play a game called mini hockey sticks. Basically mini hockey sticks is a game of hockey that you play on your knees in a carpeted area in your home most of the time. A lot of youth hockey teams that make road trips play knee hockey in hotel rooms and hallways as well. To play mini hockey sticks you need some miniature plastic hockey sticks that are often actually manufactured as souvenir hockey sticks for professional hockey teams. You also use a soft ball, this is very important to prevent breaking things in the house or hotel room where you are playing.

Plastic hockey sticks are pretty easy to come by today, as you can find them at local hockey shops, sporting good stores, toy stores and even online. You can also buy full mini hockey kits that come fully loaded with two plastic hockey sticks, a few soft balls or pucks and even two miniature hockey nets. Back when I was a kid, it was much more difficult to find the mini plastic hockey sticks used to play knee hockey. Most of the time, the only place where you could get these sticks was if you went to a professional, college or junior hockey game where they sold team branded plastic mini hockey sticks in souvenir shops. These days however, the internet has made it so that you can easily purchase plastic hockey sticks for your knee hockey games.

Some of the best memories that youth hockey players will look back on are their times when they played knee hockey games and tournaments with all of their friends and teammates from their childhood. The great thing about knee hockey is that it allows children that like hockey to play the game that they love wherever they want. Most kids who play ice hockey love to play the game so much that they can’t wait until their next scheduled ice time which forces these children to organize their own knee hockey, street hockey or roller hockey games wherever they can.

If you are looking to buy some miniature plastic hockey sticks, you should definitely look online as you will find an abundance of these mini sticks for the classic game of mini hockey sticks. If you can’t find the mini hockey sticks that you are looking for at your local pro shop or souvenir shop, you simply need to do a simple search online and you should be able to find many sources for plastic knee hockey sticks offered for an inexpensive price.

For a lot of kids that attend professional, college or junior hockey games the most sought after souvenirs for them are the classic knee hockey sticks. For years youth hockey players have gathered in hotel hallways, basements of their homes and anywhere else that would make a good knee hockey arena to play some of the most intense knee hockey games you will ever see. Although playing with mini hockey sticks has led to many things breaking wherever it is played, when kids play knee hockey I am sure that they would say that it was worth any trouble they got in for the fun they had while playing knee hockey.

Back in the day it seemed that you could only find knee hockey sticks at hockey rinks or pro shops. Before the internet existed it was not all that easy to find mini hockey sticks, thus you pretty much had to make due with the limited amount of choices that you had. Now however, there are plenty of hockey equipment websites and team souvenir pages that offer several choices in knee hockey sticks. The great thing about the knee hockey stick is that they are very inexpensive, yet they can offer children who want to play knee hockey countless hours of fun. Even if your mini hockey stick breaks, they are always easy to replace by going online.

Some of the best memories youth hockey players will have are the ones that they had with their teammates in between games. Going on road trips and staying at hotels, to the dismay of the hotel managers and probably parents, usually means the organization of some very intense knee hockey tournaments. I think most of the little rink rats from the past, today and the future will cherish the fun that they had while playing with their knee hockey sticks.

If you are looking to find a gift for your child, and they are interested in hockey, I would definitely have to suggest purchase a few miniature hockey sticks and some soft balls or pucks which won’t break anything. You do not necessarily need a net as you can use things around the house as a net, however these days they do make some very nice knee hockey nets that are not only relatively inexpensive, but they are also durable. Knee hockey will keep your child occupied with their friends for many hours and it will likely leave lasting memories for them which will be fun to look back on when they are too old to play mini hockey.

When I was a kid, I remember being fanatical about playing knee hockey with mini hockey sticks. Every year it seemed as though everybody on my team was obsessed with knee hockey tournaments anywhere that they could be had. I always felt like it was an exclusive miniature hockey stick club that only my friends and I were a part of, however, I have come to realize that almost everybody I know that played hockey as a child had mini hockey stick tournaments just like we did when we were young.

We played knee hockey anywhere we could, but I had a one place that stands out as one of the best locations for the ultimate mini hockey stick games. The all time best spot for knee hockey is in the hotel hallways while your team is out of town on a road trip. I realize that any hotel and it’s guests would not take kindly to mini floor hockey stick games being had at all hours of the day, and I am certainly not condoning kids today playing knee hockey in hotel hallways, I’m just simply saying that hotel hallways were always the funnest places to have our intense games.

Buying miniature hockey sticks can be difficult if you are not in the hockey scene. However, if you play hockey and go to tournaments you can often find these little hockey sticks at souvenir stands or pro shops at the ice rink where the tournament is located. Another place where you can often find mini sticks to purchase is at local professional, minor league, college or junior hockey games. A lot of times these rinks also have souvenir shops and mini hockey sticks often compete as some of the souvenir stands best sellers. If you do have trouble finding a place where you can buy the mini stick, you can be sure that you should easily be able to find some online by doing a simple search on the internet.

One thing is for sure, if you have kids who are interested in hockey you might consider buying them a few mini hockey sticks and a soft ball or soft hockey puck. I can almost guarantee that your children will have hours of fun with their own set of mini sticks to play knee hockey with.
