When it comes to hockey goalie equipment, most goalies do not consider Itech goalie pads right away when they are shopping for their next pair of leg pads. This is not because their goaltender equipment is not of a high quality and sufficiently protective. The reason why Itech goaltender pads are not as popular as say RBK goalie equipment or Vaughn goalie gear is because Itech has traditionally been known as more of a head protection specialist. Itech has made quality goalie masks, hockey helmets, half shields and full shields for many years, but they only just recently have began to venture into the world of goalie equipment manufacturing.

The good thing about Itech not really making a huge splash in the goalie equipment scene is that you can buy their goalie equipment for a more affordable price than some of it’s better known competitors such as Vaughn and RBK. The fact that Bauer owns Itech now means that they have the backing of a major player in the hockey and goalie equipment manufacture world. The Itech goalie pads that are being sold presently are of a very high quality and they will work just fine for anyone looking to buy new goalie equipment.

Though Itech has become best known for the way that they build such quality hockey goalie masks, there is no reason to believe that Itech goaltender equipment is not going to be made with the same attention to detail that their masks have become known for. Something that is interesting to note when it comes to hockey equipment brands in general is the fact that many of the smaller or more niched manufacturers of hockey equipment often get bought out by the bigger and more well known hockey equipment brands like Bauer or CCM. This means that although the equipment still has the Itech brand name on it, they might be made in the same factory as Bauer which means that the manufacturers have perfected the art of building a quality Itech goalie pad.

When it comes to buying new goaltender equipment, it can be difficult to choose between all of the different brands and models available online or at your local hockey pro shop. Though you might not have thought of Itech goalie pads as being of the highest quality to be able to compete with some of the bigger brands, you should not overlook these pads because they absolutely are of a good quality and sufficient for most goalies in most leagues of play, not to mention the fact that you might be able to save a little bit of money by purchasing Itech goaltender equipment.

Choosing hockey gear for your child can be difficult because it is very difficult to tell what fits your child well and what doesn’t. Unless your child knows exactly how the equipment should fit, it will definitely be hard to decipher whether or not each piece of ice hockey gear fits them well or not. With youth goalie pads it can be even more difficult. Not many hockey parents have ever played goalie, so buying hockey goalie equipment is a new experience for them and their child. Youth hockey goalie equipment can be pretty expensive when compared to player’s gear, but luckily it is less expensive that the goalie equipment worn by older goaltenders.

When choosing youth goalie pads for your child, there are a few things that you want to consider. First and foremost, you want to make sure that the height of the junior goalie leg pads are sufficient for your childs height. Obviously you do not want to buy youth goaltender pads hoping that they will last your child three or four years because until they grow into those extra large pads they will be literally swimming in their goalie gear making it very difficult to move and develop their skills as a goaltender. You should keep in mind that your child will likely not fit into the youth goalie leg pads you are currently shopping for for more than a year or two tops.

You also want to make sure that your child’s goalie pads are light. These days most goaltender equipment manufacturers have figured out how to make goalie equipment light. Back in the day however, most goalie leg pads, youth and adult alike were extremely heavy and as your game or practice went on they would soak up a lot of water which would make them even heavier. Light goalie leg pads are essential for quick movement and quick recovery. Obviously you are going to want youth goaltender leg pads that have sufficient protection to keep your child from getting injured, but keep in mind that you definitely do not want heavy leg pads for your child to lug around.

All in all, buying goalie equipment for your child is extremely difficult when they are just starting, but as they play for a few years, you will start to get a handle on what exactly you and your child should be looking for in their protective equipment. Make sure that you do a little bit of research online before jumping into it, otherwise you will suffer from goaltender equipment information overload and you will likely make a mistake in the equipment that you purchase for your youth goaltender.

RBK Goalie Pads

If I were still playing goalie today, I often think about what pads I would choose to wear. Even though I am not playing goalie, when I watch hockey or play hockey I always notice the pads that the goalie wears. The goalie equipment being worn today really has improved from what was being worn in the past. My choice were I still to be playing goalie would have to be to purchase some new RBK goalie pads.

My favorite National Hockey League goaltender is Marc-André Fleury, and I have always liked the leg pads and gloves that he has chosen to wear, especially when he wore the completely solid yellow pads that he wore a few years ago. I also really like Cristobal Huet’s all red RBK goalie pads that he used to wear with the Chicago Blackhawks. I really just love the look of the RBK goalie pad and every time I see someone that has pads that I like and I can’t figure out what brand they are, after a few good looks more often than not I realize that they are sporting RBK goalie leg pads.

The best looking goalie pads, in my opinion, also usually don’t have too many graphics on them and they just display a solid color and the logo, no patterns at all. I have never understood the elaborate designs on goalie equipment or hockey equipment in general. I prefer solid minimal look on any hockey equipment that I wear. That goes for everything from goalie leg pads, hockey gloves, even hockey jerseys, there is nothing I hate worst than a hockey jersey that has too much on it. Hockey is a sport that prides itself on the traditions that it has carried with it for the last hundred years or so, and I think that is a big reason why I like equipment that has a minimalistic design to it.

I have always loved goalie gear and that is the reason I started playing goalie when I was 8. I played goalie for many years after that, and it all began with my desire to wear the goalie equipment that I saw the pros wearing way back in the day. I still get that same feeling when I see goalies like Marc-André Fleury, Cristobal Huet and Roberto Luongo wearing their RBK goalie pads. These pads offer the classic look that fits within the hockey tradition, but when you look at them up close you can see that the craftsmanship on the RBK goalie leg pad is of the highest quality.

Many hockey goalies are incredibly particular about the ice hockey goalie pads that they wear. Unlike the equipment that the forward or defenseman on the team wear, much of the goalies uniform and equipment can be personalized and customized with the colors and the patterns that the goalie chooses to wear. This is the very reason why many hockey players get attracted to the position of goalie. The goalie equipment is unique and quite frankly it looks really cool. From the mask all the way down to the leg pads that hockey goalies wear, the way a lot of goalies look when decked out in their gear can look down right awesome.

There are plenty of ice hockey goalie pad brands that specialize in goalie gear for the most part. Vaughn goalie pads and Brian’s goalie pads are some of the more popular goaltender equipment brands, and have been for many years now. Recently however, RBK has become a major player in the goalie equipment game, and I must admit that right now RBK is probably my favorite brand of ice hockey goalie pads, with Vaughn coming in a close second.

You might be wondering, what exactly I look for in goalie pads. Well, its pretty simple really. First, I have to make sure that the leg pads are light…that is not really a problem because most leg pads being manufactured today are much lighter than they were even 10 years ago.

I also want goalie pads that have a high thigh rise. this is a newer feature in goalie gear and it really helps to keep pucks from sneaking in through the dreaded “five hole”.

After that I look for an ice hockey goalie pad that has a nice feeling leg wrap. It might seem like the leg wraps on leg pads for goalies are not that big of a deal, but in my opinion this is a very important part of a quality goalie pad. A nice deep leg wrap allows for the leg pads to fit properly without moving much while in the middle of action as a hockey goaltender. There is not much worse than ice hockey goalie pads that do not sit well or snug on the leg of the goaltender.

Finally, the last thing I care about is the look of the goalie pad. I really do enjoy a pair of slick looking goalie pads, and I really prefer almost all black leg pads with a minimalistic design. The design and colors of your goalie pads are completely up to you, but if I can give you any advice on purchasing a new pair for yourself, I would say that you should not sacrifice comfort and quality of a pad for a cool goalie pad design.

If you are a goalie in ice hockey then you are probably someone who really appreciates goalie leg pads. The great thing about playing goalie is that you get to really express yourself through your goalie equipment. While the rest of the players on your team have to have similar helmets, gloves and pants, goalies get to wear what they want when it comes to leg pads, gloves and last but not least the ever popular goalie mask. Though you are probably going to want to match your goalie equipment with your teams colors, you are pretty much free to style your equipment any way that you wish.

With most manufacturers, their hockey goalie leg pads can be completely customized from top to bottom. You can choose the colors you want, you can choose any pattern that you might want, and you can often choose the material that you want. In the past, goalies did not have nearly the amount of choices when it comes to the equipment that they wore. I am of the opinion that many of the goalies today have chosen to play one of the most difficult positions in sports because they are drawn to the equipment. But beware, if you are in the middle of making your decision of playing goalie or playing forward, you should know that youth goalie leg pads and other children’s goalie pads are going to be very expensive for you or your parents.

Along with the advancements of being able to customize the look, the shape and form of ice hockey goalie leg pads have made major steps to allow goalies to perform better and move quicker. Leg pads are being engineered lighter than ever before, which makes it much easier to recover when you go down as well as skate. They also have been made to block the puck and control rebounds better. These goalie leg pads are making it much more difficult for players to score, which is one reason whey employees of the National Hockey League are trying to add more regulations to the goalie equipment that their players can use. While goalie pads may see some more changes and size regulations at the professional level, goalie leg pads will continue to evolve in different ways allowing goalies to move easier and quicker while protecting them adequately and controlling the puck better. I truly do not believe that the width of the goalie leg pad is the reason players are having such a hard time scoring, I think that goalies are just getting better just like the players. The game as a whole is so different than it was even just 10 years ago and that can only be attributed to the players developing into faster, stronger and more skilled hockey players and goalies.
