For years Koho hockey equipment had been the preferred brand to many hockey players and goaltenders alike. If you play hockey you still probably see some players in your amateur leagues wearing Koho ice hockey equipment, but many people do not realize that Koho no longer has their brand name on their ice hockey gear. RBK, or Reebok, bought out the naming rights for Koho, as well as a few other prominent ice hockey equipment brands a few years back.

The fact that Koho is no longer making the same models of their classic ice hockey and goalie gear is quite off-putting to some hockey players and enthusiasts. However, Koho as a company still operates and manufactures hockey player equipment and hockey goalie equipment. So if you are one of the hockey players that wants to remain loyal to this traditional hockey gear manufacturer, you might want to look into purchasing some RBK products.

In the last few years, RBK has taken the hockey world by storm. They have been outfitting some of the biggest superstars in the National Hockey League as well as other professional and semi-professional leagues around the world. These days, youth hockey players and amateur hockey players are seeing stars like Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks and Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins, sporting the latest and greatest equipment with the RBK style logo on it and it is making these players want to purchase and wear what their idols wear.

Most of the RBK ice hockey equipment being made right now is of a very high quality. This is a testament to the fact that Koho and the other companies that have been bought out by RBK, have fine tuned their process of manufacturing quality ice hockey equipment. These days, my hockey equipment brand of choice would have to be RBK, currently I am wearing the 9k ice hockey skates and I absolutely love them. If you are looking for a hockey gear brand to replace your old Koho ice hockey gear, you should definitely consider buying yourself some RBK equipment.

Don’t hesitate to research for yourself what hockey gear is the most similar to the pads you already know and love. Hockey equipment has changed drastically in the last decade or so, and the game as a whole has evolved at every level. It is important that you know what hockey equipment is going to protect you or your hockey playing child sufficiently.

If you take the time to ask any hockey player who has taken up the position of goaltender, there is a very good chance that when they decided that they wanted to play goalie, they did so because if the ice hockey goalie gear. If you are new to hockey and you watch a professional hockey game on television or in person, your eyes probably gravitate to the interesting protective equipment that the goaltenders are wearing. From the big colorful goalie leg pads to the elaborately painted hockey goalie masks, the gear that the goaltenders get to wear really is appealing to many people.

The negative aspect to being a goaltender is that usually playing goalie is quite a bit more costly than it is if you were to play another position in the sport of ice hockey. It is not uncommon for amateur and youth hockey goalies to have to spend upwards of a few thousand dollars to protect themselves from the slap shots that they see when trying to keep the puck out of the net. Ice hockey in general can be expensive, no matter what position you play, but truth be told…it does not necessarily have to break the bank if you know what, when and where to buy your ice hockey goalie equipment.

Many hockey goalies and youth hockey parents don’t understand that you necessarily have to spend an arm and a leg on the ice hockey goalie gear that you need for yourself or your youth hockey goaltender. The absolute best thing that you can do if you are looking to purchase some hockey goaltender gear is to do quite a bit of research online for the best deals. While you can usually find some pretty good deals at your local pro shop, you might not have the options that you get online and you will probably be able to find more affordable deals online whether you are buying brand new or used hockey goaltender gear on auction related websites such as Ebay.

If you know exactly what you want to buy and what size you need in terms of goalie gear, you might want to consider buying online. However, if you do not have a clue of what you need for protective equipment to play goaltender, or what size will suit you best, you definitely will want to avoid buying goalie gear online because there is a good chance you will have to send it back because the gear won’t fit. If you are new to goalie, take a trip to a nearby hockey pro shop and let the employees there help point you in the right direction for what to buy when it comes to ice hockey goalie gear.

For hockey goalies, buying goalie equipment can be quite difficult, especially if you are new to playing goaltender. Hockey goalie pants are often a piece of the goaltender’s gear that gets overlooked and not much though goes into what pants you would want as a goaltender. Some new goalies even make the mistake of purchasing regular hockey pants instead of hockey goaltender pants and suffice to say it usually does not take them long to realize that this was a mistake, and the bruises on these goalies legs are the proof.

Hockey goalie pants are different from regular hockey pants in a few ways, and these differences might be subtle, but they do make a huge difference in the amount of protection that goaltenders have from the puck. Goalie pants are almost always a few inches shorter than regular hockey breezers. The reason why goaltender pants are shorter is to allow for the goalie leg pads to sit comfortably and over lap the pant without getting in the way. Ice hockey goalie pants are also a bit wider than regular hockey pants due to the fact that there are quite a few more pads inside of goalie pants, especially on the inside of the legs. Goaltenders at high levels face some very hard shots that can do some damage if you are not wearing proper hockey goalie pants. The other difference between goalie and forward pants is that for goalies, their pants do not usually rise as high as player pants which allows for the hockey goalie chest protector to comfortably fit over the top of the pant without getting in the way.

It is important for any goaltender to realize that a quality pair of goalie pants will definitely prevent an abundance of injuries to your legs and thighs. I have seen to many goalies and goalie parents that simply want to save a bit of money by purchasing a cheap pair of goaltender pants, but usually at one point or another they eventually regret their decision to save money because of an unfortunate injury or deep bruise. If you are about to take up goalie as your permanent position in ice hockey, it is essential that you do some research on the goalie equipment that you will need to prevent injuries. Research the different brands of goalie equipment as well as the different models. Do not overlook hockey goaltender pants as being an important piece of goalie gear to prevent the occasional stinger slap shot to your legs.

For the casual hockey goalie, buying ice hockey goalie equipment can be a very frustrating process due to the costs associated with buying the protective equipment that you need to stand in the net and face slap shots from other ice hockey players. I think that it is a common misconception that goalie equipment is not good unless it is brand new. This misconception could not be further from the truth.

Though I play defense in hockey now, I actually spent most of my years of youth hockey playing goaltender. While there were years where I would have brand new ice hockey goalie pads, most of my years of playing goalie saw me wearing used goalie equipment. A lot of times I would sport some pro return goalie equipment which was not only much cheaper than brand new gear, but also was of a high quality and came broken in the day that they were purchased. If I were still playing goalie today, I would definitely avoid buying brand new goalie gear and instead I would opt to buy used hockey goalie equipment.

The problem with preferring used goalie equipment is the fact that it can be hard to find good places to decent used goaltender gear. If you live in a large city that has a bit of a hockey background you might be able to find a hockey pro shop that sells new and used goaltender gear, but for those of us who do not live in towns with an abundance of ice hockey stores this is not necessarily an option. This is why the internet is so great, there are quite a few hockey equipment websites out there that sell new and used goalie equipment and the process of buying the new gear is usually relatively painless. Another great option is to visit auction or classifieds websites like Craigslist or Ebay where you can find a large amount of people looking to sell their old hockey goalie gear.

If you are hesitant to start playing goalie due to the horror stories you have heard about the cost of hockey goalie equipment, you should definitely consider researching and finding some quality used hockey equipment that is no more than a few years old. You will find that you can save hundreds of dollars by avoiding paying for the high priced brand new hockey goalie equipment and instead taking the used route which has more benefits than just a good price. The way I look at buying used goalie gear is that I basically am saving money to have someone else break in my goalie leg pads and my hockey goalie gloves.

Many people that do not have much experience playing and/or watching ice hockey do not realize that ice hockey goalie skates are much different than that of the hockey skates the forwards wear in hockey. I think that a lot of inexperienced hockey players that want to play goalie do not realize exactly how different ice hockey goaltender skates really are.

One of the major differences between the two different positions skates is that the hockey goalie skate has a much flatter blade. This means that there is more of the skate blades surface area that is touch the ice. Forward hockey skates usually have a bigger rocker when you compare them to goalie skates. Not only are goalie skate blades longer and flatter, but the hollow on ice hockey goalie skates is usually set to be a bit more shallow when you get the skates sharpened. The feel that you get when you skate with a goalie skate is much different than you would get with forward skates, but these goaltender skates are made like this for good reason, because it really allows the goalie to move and skate they way that they need to in order to be successful.

Not only are the skate blades on goaltender skate much different, but the cut of the skate seems quite a bit different too. When you compare the two different types of ice hockey skates, you will notice that the forward skate seems to have more ankle support as they rise higher, but goalie skates are almost a low-top version of forward skates. Much of the support in the legs and ankles that goalies get come from the skates, but support also comes from the goalie pads. In order for the goalie leg pads to fit more comfortably it seems that goalie skates are cut lower to accommodate for the way the pads sit on the foot.

Finally, the other main difference between the two types of ice hockey skates is the way that ice hockey goaltender skates offer much more in terms of protection. Goaltenders take a lot of shots to the front and sides of the feet and to protect against foot injuries goalie skates come with a white or black shell which can help to prevent hurting your foot. While a lot of hockey players who are not goalies would argue that they might take more shots off of their foot, especially defensemen, the reason why forwards do not have the added protection on their skates is because it is not practical and would slow the player down with the added weight and bulk.

If you are thinking about giving goalie a try, I would definitely recommend that you borrow a pair of hockey goaltender skates from somebody you know who plays goalie. It can be quite a shock when you switch from forward to goalie skates and quite honestly you might find that the difference in the way that the two types of skates are might be enough to persuade you to keep playing forward in ice hockey.

Buying goalie equipment for yourself can be quite a difficult task, however, buying youth goalie equipment for your child is even more difficult because you want to make sure that everything fits your child properly and that you are buying quality gear to prevent injuries from happening to your young goaltender.

If you have a child that is thinking about starting to play goalie in hockey, it is important that they understand the investment that has to be made for them to play this expensive position in what is already an expensive sport. The last thing that any parent wants to do is spend a lot of money on new youth goaltender equipment, only to find out that not long into the future their child decides to quit playing goalie. For this reason I would recommend that if your child has not played goalie ever before, see if you can borrow or rent some youth goalie gear for your child so that they can try out the position for a few practices or even games before you make the commitment of spending your hard earned money on brand new youth goalie equipment for your child. A lot of ice rinks and youth hockey associations have rental goalie gear that players can use to suit up as goalies whenever they want, and although this gear is usually pretty worn out, it should suffice when helping your child decide if goalie is the right position for them.

Once you have a good understanding of whether or not your child will want to stick with goalie, if they come to the conclusion that they like the position, then it is time to decide where and what to buy in terms of youth goalie equipment. You definitely do not want to buy your children’s goaltender gear online if it is your first time buying equipment for them. It might be tempting to buy their equipment online, but you will likely make the mistake of buying the wrong size of hockey goalie pads. Instead of buying your child’s youth hockey goalie equipment online, you should go the traditional route of finding a hockey pro shop near you and getting help from an employee who likely has experience in fitting children for ice hockey equipment as well as goaltender equipment. Make sure that you ask many questions so that you don’t make the mistake of buying a piece of goalie equipment that will not suit your child well.

Another great way to get a good feel for what you should buy in terms of junior goalie equipment is to do some research online. There are many websites out there that offer customer reviews of various pieces ice hockey gear. Buying hockey goalie equipment does not have to be as intimidating as many hockey parents without experience make it. Just take your time and make sure that your child actually is committed to playing goalie before you spend a lot of money on goalie gear, after that everything else will fall into place.

If you are an aspiring hockey goaltender, or if you have a child who is thinking that they might want to give goalie a try, you probably cringe when you think about what it will cost in order to buy all of the protective gear needed to play goalie safely. The fact of the matter is that many people who try goalie become instantly addicted to the position, but also many completely dislike it and decide to quite after playing goaltender for a year or less. For this reason it is a good idea to not buy brand new and instead buy used hockey goalie equipment for yourself or your child.

It is true that playing goalie can literally cost a fortune, but if you know how to go about buying used hockey goalie gear you can really save money and avoid spending an arm and a leg to play a position that you are not even quite sure if you are serious about yet, you need to try some cheap goalie equipment while you are feeling out whether or not goalie is right for you. Luckily many goaltenders sell the goalie gear that they have outgrown to their local hockey equipment store or online at some of the popular auction websites. I should mention that buying used goalie equipment is always a better idea when you can try it on first. A lot of hockey players and goalies make the mistake of buying the wrong piece of equipment online because they never got to try on the gear prior to spending their hard earned money on their goalie equipment.

Many hockey players won’t settle for any thing less than brand new hockey equipment, but if you can’t afford to do that buying used hockey goaltender equipment is not anything to be ashamed of. Obviously you will spend less money on the used pieces of equipment that you buy, but you will also be able to avoid the dreadful breaking in of the pads you buy. When you buy used hockey goalie equipment there are also some things you can do to repair or recondition the pads to make them more durable and less likely to break down on you.

If you want to buy used goalie gear, you should do some research on what exactly you are looking for and the going rate for a brand new version of the piece of equipment you are going to buy so that you know how much you should offer for the used hockey goalie equipment if you have the option to barter.

A lot of goaltenders in ice hockey are very particular about the goalie equipment that they wear. When they find a brand that they like a lot, most goalies tend to stick with that brand throughout most of their hockey playing years. There are quite a few goalie equipment manufacturers, and more are entering the market every few years. One of the most popular brands of hockey goaltender equipment has to be Brians goalie equipment. I think the first goalies that I remember wearing Brians goalie leg pads and gloves was Eddie Belfour when he was in his rookie year with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Going back to the early to mid 1990’s, Brians goaltender equipment has been a mainstay at hockey equipment pro shops as well as hockey and goalie equipment websites. They were also one of the first brands of goalie gear to allow customers to customize the colors of their leg pads and gloves. This feature was huge in terms of taking customers away from many of their competitors because goalies like to be able to customize the exact look of their equipment to match their team’s colors. Now pretty much every goalie pad manufacturer offers the feature of color customization, usually through a website, but Brians goalie equipment was one of the first brands to offer this feature many years ago.

Although there are many more goalie equipment brands to compete with today, and many of these brands simply have more resources and are larger companies than Brians, it does not mean that there are not still a lot of goalies who actually prefer Brians goalie gear to some of the bigger brands such as RBK or Vaughn. What a goaltender chooses to wear in terms of protective equipment is completely up to each individual goalie, and although a lot of the goalie pads out there appear to look very similar, any goalie will tell you that every pad feels different and finding the right pair of pads for each goalies particular style takes time. Once you find the right pair of leg pads, I can all but guarantee that you will continue to go with that brand for the rest of your days as a goalie. Have you given Brians goalie equipment a try? You might find that their equipment suits your style well.

Brians hockey goalie equipment is well known for their classic goalie pads that sport some amazingly detailed designs and colors. Some goalies have gone so far as to have the detailed logo of their team embroidered in the middle of their leg pads so that when their pads are next to each other you can see the full design.

When it come to manufacturing goalie masks at an affordable price, my opinion is that Itech goalie masks are the best option for hockey goaltenders who are looking to buy a safe mask without spending an arm and a leg. Obviously, these goalie masks will still cost a few hundred dollars a piece, but when you compare it to some of the other options out there the Itech hockey goalie masks are much less expensive. You probably know that my favorite goaltender masks if you can afford them, are Warwick goalie masks. However, in my experiences most hockey goalies and parents do not want to spend a ton of money when they are just deciding whether or not playing the position of goaltender in hockey is right for them. For new and experienced goalies alike Itech goalie masks are a great option for any goalie to choose in terms of head and face protection.

I think that the reason why Itech goalie masks are preferred by a lot of goaltenders of all ages is because they have found a way to manufacture massive quantities of these goalie masks without sacrificing the amount of protection they need to still be a safe goaltender mask. Also, these masks have a lot of appeal to many of goaltenders because you can often buy these goalie masks with paint jobs already on them. They are generic paint jobs, but they do look great and everybody knows that painted hockey goalie masks are the way to go, no matter what level of ice hockey you play.

Itech hockey goalie masks are offered in different models, thus they range in price to allow for almost any goalie to be able to afford one. If you are in the market for a new hockey goaltender mask, you should definitely do some research to make sure that you know the risks associated with playing goalie in ice hockey. Also, you need to make sure that you know how a goalie mask should fit your face and head properly so that you know what size you will need. It also should be noted that you should never risk your safety in order to save some money. Make sure that your Itech hockey goalie mask will prevent you from receiving common injuries in ice hockey such as concussions.

Goaltender masks are one of the main reasons why some people choose to play goalie, and rightfully so. If you want to buy an affordable hockey goalie mask that looks great, just like the ones the professionals use, you should definitely consider buying an Itech goalie mask.

If you play goaltender in ice hockey you have probably had difficulty finding affordable goalie equipment and you have probably considered the term cheap goalie equipment to be somewhat of an oxymoron. Though it is true that playing goaltender in ice hockey is considerably more expensive than playing any other position in hockey as well as most other sports, there are certain things that you can do in order to save some money when you buy new goalie gear. Although most goalie gear for sale online and at local hockey stores are probably not going to be considered cheap goalie equipment, most of the time if you spend enough time searching and if you know what to look for as well as when and where to buy your goalie equipment you can truly find cheap goalie gear.

Of course all of the latest models of goaltending gear is going to be difficult to find on sale or at a discounted price, so what you really should do is settle for last years model which would most likely be on closeout during the off season of hockey, which is the summer. Most traditional brick and mortar hockey pro shops have so much inventory that they need to get rid of to make room for the newest models that they have to offer closeout sales to get rid of their hockey and goalie gear that has sat on the shelf for more than a year.

Another way to find cheap goaltender equipment is to buy your gear online at one of the countless hockey equipment websites out on the internet. The fact that most of these hockey websites do not necessarily have much overhead and costs in terms of what it costs to operate their business, therefore they can afford to drop their prices a bit and offer cheap goaltender gear. You should however make sure that you know exactly what it is you want in terms of goalie equipment and the exact size that you are going to need in order to fit and protect you sufficiently.

There really are quite a few things that you can actually do in order to obtain cheap hockey goalie equipment. You just want to make sure that you research properly the going prices for the different pieces of goalie equipment and you might also want to consider reading a few reviews before you go out and spend your hard earned money on your next piece of affordable hockey goalie equipment.
